What Does the Krispy Kreme Hot Light Mean?
When the red Hot Now light is on, Original Glazed doughnuts are coming off the production line warm, and many shops hand out a free sample.
When the light is on
Each shop sets its own Hot Light times, usually a few hours in the morning and again in the evening. The Krispy Kreme app and website show which nearby shops have the light on and send alerts if you turn them on.
| Time of day | What to expect |
|---|---|
| Morning, about 6am to 10am | Most shops run a Hot Light window |
| Evening, about 5pm to 10pm | Many shops turn the light back on |
| Other times | Doughnuts are made fresh but may not be warm |
Why warm doughnuts taste different
An Original Glazed is a yeast raised doughnut, so straight off the line it is soft and airy and the glaze is still melting. After it cools, the glaze sets into a thin shell.
